You are only charged for a booking once the host formally accepts your request.
Understanding Authorization Holds
When you submit a booking request, an authorization hold is placed on your card to ensure the funds are available. If the host declines, if the request expires, or if you withdraw it, the hold is automatically lifted by our payment processor.
Why Does It Still Appear on My Bank Statement?
The authorization hold may show up as a “pending” or “processing” charge before disappearing.
This hold is temporary and will be removed automatically.
The time it takes for the funds to return to your account depends on your bank—on average, it takes 3-5 business days.
Important: SpacePal does not control the speed of fund processing, as it depends on your payment card provider. If you don’t see the refund after a few days, we recommend reaching out to your bank for an update.
