How to Make the Most Out of SpacePal
Welcome to SpacePal! We’re excited to have you here and can’t wait to see what you create in your first booking. To help you navigate the platform smoothly, we’ve put together this guide covering how to get started, common mistakes to avoid, and important reminders.
Getting Started
1. Set Up Your Profile
• Create an account and complete your profile.
• Upload a profile photo and verify your email and phone number.
2. Search for the Perfect Space
• Use filters to refine your search based on your needs.
• Adjust the search map to focus on specific locations.
• Browse the “Get Inspired” tab for curated space ideas and recommendations.
• Save your favorite spaces by clicking the heart icon, and organize them into collaborative Favorites Boards to share with others.
3. Contact the Host
• If you have questions about a listing, send the host a message before booking.
• Click “Message Host” on the listing page to start a conversation.
4. Book Your Space
• Once you’ve found the right space, click “Request to Book” or “Book Now” (if Instant Booking is enabled).
• If the host requires approval, they have 2 business days to accept or decline your request.
• Important: When you place a booking request, a temporary authorization hold is placed on your card. If the request is declined or expires, the funds will be released back to you.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
🚫 Duplicate Bookings
• Each booking request is a commitment, and hosts can accept at any time.
• Avoid sending multiple requests to different hosts at once to prevent accidental double bookings.
• If multiple bookings are confirmed, you may not be eligible for a full refund, depending on the cancellation policy.
🚫 Taking Transactions or Communication Off the Platform
• Keep all payments and communication within SpacePal to ensure security and support in case of disputes.
• Conducting transactions off-platform violates SpacePal’s policies and may result in account restrictions.
🚫 Last-Minute Bookings
• While last-minute bookings are possible, hosts need time to prepare their spaces.
• To ensure the best experience, try to book in advance whenever possible.
