There are several reasons why your credit or debit card might be declined when making a payment. Here are the most common causes and how to fix them:
1. Bank Security Blocks the Charge
Your bank may have flagged the transaction for security reasons, such as:
Fraud protection measures blocking unfamiliar vendors.
The bank not recognizing SpacePal as a trusted merchant.
A temporary freeze on your card.
💡 Solution: Contact your bank to approve the charge and confirm that SpacePal is a legitimate transaction. Once cleared, resubmit your booking request.
2. Insufficient Funds
When submitting a booking request, an authorization hold is placed for the full booking amount. If you don’t have enough available funds, the payment will be declined.
💡 Solution: Ensure you have enough balance on your card before retrying the payment.
3. Invalid Zip Code or Incorrect Card Information
If your billing address, zip code, or card number doesn’t match what your bank has on file, the transaction may be declined. This can happen if your details have changed since you first added the card.
💡 Solution: Contact your bank to confirm the correct billing details, update your payment method in SpacePal, and try again.
Important Notes
If your payment is declined, you may see a “pending” or “processing” charge on your statement. This is temporary and will disappear once the issue is resolved.
SpacePal cannot override or bypass declined payments.
If you continue having issues, we recommend trying a different payment method or reaching out to your bank for further assistance.
